Being healthy is a gift! If you have never struggled with your health be grateful and if you have hopefully you will find some encouragement on this blog.
If you are brand new here I suggest reading more about my story in the following posts: The Girl Behind The Blog, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6. If you took the time to read all those, bless your heart! If you didn’t, to make a long story short, I was very sick for several years with a neurological disorder that left me paralyzed from the neck down when I was 23.
As I was recovering I went to physical therapy and started using yoga to help regain my balance, coordination, and strength. Believing that God had a plan to use my illness and recovery to inspire others I began to let my new dream take flight. In July of 2009 I completed my yoga teacher training. Since my illness I am grateful each day for what my body is capable of doing.
Fast forward several years and I continue to push and challenge my body in ways I never would have dreamed of doing before my illness. In 2011 I completed my first half marathon with a time of 2:03:53, and my first Triathlon and came in 2nd in my age group. I am so thankful to the amazing yoga instructors, athletes, personal trainers, friends, and family who have inspired me and most of all thankful to God for giving me this passion and allowing me to share it with the community.
I am also an alumni ambassador for lululemon athletica. I love the diversity all my certifications offer and how utilizing all my trainings allows me to create a very unique and well rounded program/workouts for my clients.
My passion is to inspire and encourage others to live a healthy life.
