Hallelujah! I survived my juice cleanse! Yesterday was the final day and I am so happy I didn't quit or give up. There were a few times that I seriously questioned if this cleanse was worth all the money that was spent on the produce. The first 4 days of this cleanse I strictly juiced and only juiced low sugar veggies. The next 3 days I reintroduced protein, moderate carbs, and healthy fats into my diet. Then I repeated the whole thing again. I have to say I am super proud of my husband, my friend Kiley and her husband Kasey for also doing this cleanse. Josh and Kasey had to modify it slightly for their work schedules but all of us did so great and it was encouraging to know that we were doing this together. Last week I was so excited to juice again for 4 days. Let me tell you by Friday afternoon I was so over it. I pressed on for 3 more days and was again ready to eat on Tuesday morning. Beta Breakthrough Juice Fast Day 7
I am still and alive and survived the first half of my cleanse. I am so thankful to have had the support of my husband and friend Kiley over the last 7 days because there were a few moments when I thought I wouldn't make it and run to pantry for the peanut butter. The 3 of us have been texting and talking daily to encourage each other as we cleanse together. DAY 7 MEASUREMENTS WEIGHT 124 lb. | WAIST 28.5" I feel really great about my progress so far. He also had to start eating again before going back on shift at the fire station. We did not want him passing out on a call. According to Josh this juice cleanse is much more challenging than the program he and my mom followed previously from Reboot with Joe. If you are new here or missed … [Read more...]
Beta Breakthrough Juice Fast Day 1
Well today is the day! My husband and I are starting our cleanse. For the most part Josh and I live a pretty healthy lifestyle. The last two years especially we have become more aware of what types of food we are putting into our bodies. Regardless of how healthy a person eats it is always nice to give your digestive system a break. By taking a few days and infusing the body with juice made from nutrient rich dense leafy greens the digestive systems gets a rest and the body can more readily absorb the nutrients allowing more energy to be expended in removing toxins. These types of cleanses have been proven to clear up the skin, give the body more energy, reset the taste buds, assist in weight loss, and improve the function of the immune system. I am looking at this cleanse as a total body reset now that I have finished nursing. Women typically need one full year after having a baby until their body is completely recovered and hormone levels return to pre-preganacy levels. Now that … [Read more...]
