5 Quick & Delicious Macro-Friendly Protein Snacks That Taste Like Dessert

If you’re looking for macro-friendly protein snacks that satisfy a sweet craving, these are some of my favorites. From strawberry cheesecake protein bowls and chocolate protein pudding to easy grab-and-go protein bars, these high-protein sweet snacks make it easier to add more protein to my day while still enjoying something that tastes like dessert.

One of the biggest things I focus on with my nutrition is getting enough protein each day. I typically aim for 125–150 grams of protein a day and try to get around 30 grams at each meal. Hitting that goal isn’t always easy, especially on busy days, so I’ve found that having a few protein-packed snacks and treats I actually enjoy makes a huge difference.

If you’re trying to eat healthier or are looking for a simple nutrition goal to work toward, you might start by paying attention to how much protein you’re currently eating and gradually work toward a goal that makes sense for you.

For me, 100 grams a day was a helpful target to work toward before increasing my protein intake. Instead of completely overhauling what I was eating, I started looking for easy ways to add more protein to my meals and snacks throughout the day.

Over time, I’ve discovered several macro-friendly protein snacks that taste indulgent but still support my fitness and nutrition goals. As a mom balancing workouts, homeschooling, and daily life, I understand how challenging it can be to find healthy snacks that satisfy a sweet craving while also helping you hit your protein goals.

And because I love something sweet, some of my favorite ways to add extra protein into my day happen to taste a lot like dessert!

5 Macro-Friendly Protein Snacks That Taste Like Dessert

Here are five of my favorite macro-friendly protein treats—and bonus, they’re all quick and easy enough for a busy day.

Whether I need something after a workout, between homeschool lessons, or at the end of the day when I’m craving something sweet, these are easy ways for me to add a little more protein while still enjoying something that feels like a treat.

1. Strawberry Cheesecake Protein Bowl

This dessert-in-a-bowl feels like a treat but packs a serious protein punch.

Protein: About 25 grams

What You Need

  • ¾ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 scoop vanilla or cheesecake protein powder
  • ½ cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1–2 tablespoons crushed graham cracker or low-fat granola

Why I Love It

It’s creamy, fruity, and crunchy all at once. With about 25 grams of protein, it works for breakfast, an afternoon snack, or even dessert.

2. Built Bars

When I need a portable, satisfying snack that tastes more like a candy bar than a protein bar, Built Bars are one of my go-to options.

Protein: 17–19 grams per bar

Why I Love Them

  • 17–19 grams of protein per bar
  • Around 130–160 calories, depending on the flavor
  • Lots of flavors to choose from
  • Easy to grab when I’m heading out the door
  • Helps satisfy my craving for something sweet

Money-saving tip: Check Costco or Sam’s Club for bulk packages!

3. Cottage Cheese Chocolate Protein Pudding

If you love creamy chocolate pudding but want something packed with protein, this is such an easy option.

Protein: About 24 grams

What You Need

Blend everything together until smooth and creamy.

Why I Love It

It’s rich, creamy, and chocolatey while giving you around 24 grams of protein. It’s one of my favorite ways to turn simple ingredients into something that actually feels like dessert.

4. Root Beer Float — Olipop + Core Power

This one is a nostalgic favorite with a macro-friendly twist.

Protein: About 26 grams

What You Need

  • 1 can Olipop Root Beer
  • 1 cup Vanilla Core Power protein shake

Pour the root beer into a glass and slowly add the protein shake—it can get very fizzy!

Why I Love It

You get about 26 grams of protein in a sweet, fizzy drink that feels like dessert. It’s especially good during the summer or anytime you’re craving a root beer float.

5. G2G Bars

If you struggle with dry, chalky protein bars, refrigerated bars are definitely worth trying. G2G Bars have a soft, chewy texture that makes them feel much more like a treat.

Protein: 18–20 grams per bar

Why I Love Them

  • 18–20 grams of protein per bar
  • Made with whole-food ingredients
  • Soft and chewy texture
  • Easy to keep in the fridge for a quick snack
  • Great when I want something sweet but also need more protein

My personal favorite is the G2G Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip. So good!

Bonus: Clio Greek Yogurt Bars

Clio Greek Yogurt Bars are one of my favorite options when I’m craving something sweet and chocolatey. They’re made with Greek yogurt, covered in chocolate, and taste more like dessert than a protein snack.

Protein: 8 grams per bar

Why I Love Them

They’re cold, creamy, chocolatey, and easy to grab straight from the fridge. With 8 grams of protein per bar, they’re an easy way to add a little extra protein while satisfying a sweet craving.

Small Ways to Add More Protein

One thing I’ve learned is that hitting my protein goal doesn’t always mean eating another big meal. Sometimes it’s simply about finding little opportunities throughout the day to add another 10, 15, or 20 grams.

A protein bar when I’m out, Greek yogurt in the afternoon, or chocolate protein pudding when I want dessert can all help me get closer to my goal without making nutrition feel complicated.

Stay Fueled

Sweet treats don’t have to mean giving up on your nutrition goals. These are a few of the ways I satisfy a sweet craving while also adding more protein to my day.
