The Drop & Squat Workout

I am fairly certain I won’t be able to move this morning. The last two days I have been at Yoga Sculpt Training for CorePower Yoga and I think I might have squatted myself silly. I can’t remember the last time I did that many squats at once. It has been awhile and my legs are letting me know.

Learning a new format has really taken me outside of my comfort zone. It is humorous to hear yourself try to teach knowing where you want your class to go but being unable to verbalize it effectively.

In honor of the insane amount of squats and pushups I have done over the last two days I wanted to share the love with you! Here is a fun workout that has just the right amount of squats and pushups to get your heart rate up with a fun little cardio burst thrown in at the end. Have fun and remember to drop low into each and every squat. Keep your chest up and those hips back.

Drop & Squat Workout

Hope you all have a great weekend! Just curious, has anyone taken class at CorePower Yoga? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Running Workout & Timex Ironman Run x20 GPS Review

Disclosure: I #TrainWithKohls! This post is sponsored by Kohl’s and is an unpaid review. All opinions stated in this post are my own.

I have a super fun running circuit workout on the blog today and also a review of the Timex Ironman Run x20 GPS watch. Be sure to read this post all the way to the end because (hint, hint, wink, wink) there is a giveaway happening!

Timex Run x20 GPS Watch Review

This is a budget friendly GPS watch that has a very simply and easy to use menu. You can set different alert zones such as pace and speed. For the price this watch does have great functions. It allows for the user to strap it on, head out the door, and track distance and pace or to be used for interval running. Just pick your intervals by distance or time, set your watch, and listen for the beep.

This watch does NOT have the ability to sync up with an app or with your computer. If you are looking for something that has this capability this watch would not be recommended. It is also NOT a heart rate monitor.

I used the workout and interval function and didn’t have any issues with the GPS. It comes with a USB cable to charge and when the watch is not in use I shut it off to prolong the battery life.

This watch is a great fitness watch if you are looking to monitor your distance or to time yourself for cardio intervals. I love to combine running with different exercises to switch up my training. It always makes the workouts go so fast.

For the workout below, I set the intervals on the watch to 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile. Once finished with the 1/4 mile run do the 20 pushups and when you are ready to run again if you are using the watch it starts calculating for the 1/2 mile run. It is pretty cool!

Timex Run x20 GPS Interval Function

You can complete the running portion once or do it twice. When you are ready to be finished with the intervals and using the watch you just need to stop the workout. I also really liked the watch had an optional button to view the seconds which made it easy to time the 30 second plank holds.

Movie Workout: Disney’s Frozen

Movie Workout Disney's FrozenAre you ready to get your workout done at home while your kids watch a movie?

We recently watched Frozen for the first time and our whole family (Josh included) enjoyed this movie. Caden asks to watch the snowman movie at least once a day. Josh and I both feel it is important to limit his screen time but I have found the benefit in being able to find movies that he enjoys watching for times that I may need to work, cleanup the house, make dinner, or even get in a quick workout.

For all you mom’s out there who have little ones and find it hard to squeeze in your workouts I have the perfect no excuses plan for you! Turn on your televisions and get ready to sing and sweat. Plus depending on where you have your movie playing and how old your kiddos are you may even be able to sneak in a quick shower too.

Disclaimer: Not all exercises are suitable for everyone and this or any other exercise program may result in injury. To reduce this risk of injury, please consult your doctor before beginning this, or any other, physical fitness program. Any user of this workout assumes the full risk of injury resulting from performing the routine presented.

Get ready to workout to Disney’s Frozen! This workout happens during the songs which will add up to just under 30 minutes of exercise. For example, during “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” you will be doing 10 squats followed by 10 Overhead Presses and repeating those two exercises the entire length of the song. Once the song is over you can rest. As a bonus you can challenge yourself whenever Olaf’s body comes apart (keep reading for more details).

Frozen Movie Workout

In case there is any confusion, during the song In Summer you are doing Burpees the entire duration of that song which is 2 minutes long. Make sure to count your reps so if you do this workout again you can see if you have improved. For the songs with multiple exercises listed be sure to repeat the exercises until the song is over.

If you decide you are enjoying the movie and want to keep watching here is a bonus circuit that can be added. Anytime Olaf’s body comes apart perform 20 seconds of Side Plank on each side immediately followed by 20 seconds of plank.

Let me know what you think and if you plan on trying this. Have you found any other ways to occupy your kids while you workout at home?
