The weather has been absolutely gorgeous this week in Arizona. Cool breezy mornings with even a few sprinkles is generally unheard of this time in May. The afternoons have been equally fantastic with sunshine and blue skies! I am not sure how long it is going to last but the summer heat is right around the corner so I will enjoy this weather as long as possible. I have been spending my mornings enjoying a walk outside and today I decided to add a few hill sprints into the mix. Treatments are just wrapping up on my legs for varicose veins and I decided to test out how they are feeling now. Before treatment I could barley run or even stand for long periods of time. My legs felt so heavy and they would ache. Today running was possible and my legs didn't feel like they weighed 100 pounds each. Yay! Find an outdoor hill with a moderate incline. Do as many rounds as possible of this workout for 10 minutes: 15-20 second uphill sprintrecovery walk/jog downhill10 walking lunges10 … [Read more...]
Running Workout & Timex Ironman Run x20 GPS Review
Disclosure: I #TrainWithKohls! This post is sponsored by Kohl’s and is an unpaid review. All opinions stated in this post are my own. I have a super fun running circuit workout on the blog today and also a review of the Timex Ironman Run x20 GPS watch. Be sure to read this post all the way to the end because (hint, hint, wink, wink) there is a giveaway happening! This is a budget friendly GPS watch that has a very simply and easy to use menu. You can set different alert zones such as pace and speed. For the price this watch does have great functions. It allows for the user to strap it on, head out the door, and track distance and pace or to be used for interval running. Just pick your intervals by distance or time, set your watch, and listen for the beep. This watch does NOT have the ability to sync up with an app or with your computer. If you are looking for something that has this capability this watch would not be recommended. It is also NOT a heart rate monitor. I … [Read more...]

God has been opening up some amazing opportunities for me and my family and I am so thankful! Did you try last weeks 200 Rep Challenge? I would love to hear how you did. CrossFit Inspired Cardio
I have a super fun workout challenge for you today! All you need is yourself and a pair of running shoes. I like to do this workout at the track but it can be done anywhere. If you are running outside and not on a treadmill you can use MapMyRun to route your mile. But before I share the workout I want talk about this kid for a second... Oh Caden I love you so much, and you never cease to amaze me with your super human baby strength. Seriously, this little guy is going to put both myself and Josh to shame. We have one cabinet in the kitchen that we did not baby proof that contains our tupperware. Caden loves to play with the lids and containers so we left that cabinet open for him to explore. This past weekend I was shocked when he took the biggest lid we have and proceeded to do this... He made his own push sled! He tried to roll the weight on top of the lid but couldn't get it on his own so I helped him and then he took off. Up and down the hallway for 20 minutes. I … [Read more...]
Losing The Baby Weight: Pregnancy & Exercise
Follow my blog with Bloglovin This week starts the first post in the Losing the Baby Weight series. Like I mentioned last week it has been difficult for me to start writing about this because there are so many different variables that come into play with how quickly a mama recovers after having a baby. Here are the topics for the next 4 weeks: Wednesday, June 12: Pregnancy & Exercise Wednesday, June 19: What To Expect After You Deliver Wednesday, June 26: The First Six Weeks Wednesday, July 3: Nutrition As a personal trainer and yoga instructor I felt confident in my ability to answer my clients questions regarding exercise and pregnancy. Then I became pregnant. Welcome unwanted advice and opinions from strangers. It might be because I taught yoga and bootcamp classes up until I delivered but I heard my share of comments that were pretty judgmental about how active I was while pregnant with Caden. I have learned that you will never please everyone. Being a good … [Read more...]
